This year, make a list of New Year’s Resolutions that you not only CAN keep but will enjoy keeping. Treat yourself to beauty, relaxation and luxury.
1. Resolve to exfoliate weekly at least. Get yourself a lush and aromatic scrub that clears pores, lifts dead skin cells and polishes skin and glow, glow, glow in 2007.
2. Resolve to fight lines and wrinkles before they start by moisturizing daily.
3. Resolve to treat yourself to a deliciously long soak in a warm bath once a week. Whether you use bath salts, a bath bomb or a foaming bath oil, make it a total experience. Play mood-setting music, burn scented candles, make it your time to unwind from the hectic pace of everyday life.
4. Get a makeover. Its a great way to try out a new look and discover new colors that you never knew would look great on you.
5. Update your hairstyle. If you’re bold enough, try a new cut or style. Look through magazines and on the net to see what cuts might suit your face and lifestyle. If you’re timid or like your hair the length it is, add some accessories to dress it up. Hairsticks, decorative hair pins and jeweled ponytail holders are a few of the ways to give hair some pizazz.
6. Get a professional manicure even if you usually do your own nails. It’s a great help to have them professionally shaped or try some nail tips. Go bold with a little nail art. You won’t believe the mood lift you get with a shiny coat of nail polish.
7. Check out our Beauty Store for great deals on some of the latest and best personal care products for a fragrant and gorgeous new year.
Happy New Year!

Are you using the right hairbrush?
Natural or boar-bristle brushes have flexible bristles that won’t snag and stretch hair so they may cause fewer split-ends. These brushes are best for dry, straight hair but if your hair is thick or curly, you may find they don’t penetrate hair, causing it to snarl or tangle underneath.
Generally, if you have long, thick and curly or wavy hair, you will find it easier to use a brush with synthetic bristles. These should have rubber tips to prevent the bristles from scratching the scalp or catching on hair. The bristles are also more widely spaced than natural bristle brushes which makes detangling easier.
If you are using a brush to blow-dry hair straight, remember the wider the brush, the straighter the hair. Use a paddle brush with synthetic bristles for the best effect.
Always use a wide-toothed comb on wet hair first, to remove tangles and snarls. A round brush is good for turning ends under or creating soft waves but practice is necessary to use it effectively without getting it tangled in hair while blow-drying.

Well, it’s Wednesday and time again for my list of perfumes I would buy just to get the bottle. Here’s a few more bottles that have caught my eye:

One of the great things about Christmas gifts from my daughter is the way she manages to find something very nice that still fits her budget. She has a knack for finding the items that are greatest in value and (dare I say it?) elegance at the trusty dollar store.
Glitter Tube Tints from Bobbi Brown
This year she picked up a moisture drenched lipstick in a luscious raspberry red, flecked throughout with tiny bits of glitter that shine and catch the light. Unfortunately, it’s a discontinued Aziza lip color so I won’t be able to replace it once it’s gone. Perhaps that adds to the value of it for me; it’s already rare. I am not one who normally goes in for lots of glitter on my lips, but the holiday season isn’t over yet as New Year’s approaches and I may have plans for this little gem-like lip color.
Nevertheless, I so liked the glittery look and imagining how that will catch attention at any New Year’s gathering, I went out in search of something that might work as a substitute for anyone looking for a special shimmer come midnight Dec. 31st.
These Glitter Tube Tints from Bobbi Brown come in a set of three shades. If the picture shows the color faithfully, then the darkest shade on the left is close to what I have. A good choice if you like something light with the sheer quality of a gloss.
The closest contender as a replacement might be Glitter Lipstick by Sephora. There’s a good selection in the shades and it goes on like a lipstick but can be worn over another lipstick or under gloss.
