Glazewear Liquid Lip Color by Avon

I have been wearing my Glazewear Liquid Lip Color by Avon for a few days now. Overall, I am pretty pleased with the depth of color and the infrequent need for reapplication.

Everyone likes the feel of a lip gloss, they naturally feel more moisturizing and application is a breeze. The only trouble is that it tends to wear off quickly and needs constant reapplication.

Glazewear

I figured the best way to test a liquid lip color was to go for a deep, rich color. What better test of its staying power? So I tried Real Red. The product feels a little thicker than some lip glosses but it’s very smooth and very moisturizing. I like the fact that it contains Vitamins A, E and C, all of which have great benefits for your skin.

If you are used to sheer color in a gloss, then you will be surprised by how rich this color is and how much coverage you get. I won’t say that it lasted all day, I did need to reapply once or twice but not too often. The color was a real red but not harsh, just rich and bright. My lips felt great with this on, and the softness lasted for a long time afterward. I felt this product was very protective for the lips as well as providing great color and coverage.

As Avon currently has Glazewear on sale for 1/3 of the normal price, I recommend you pick up a couple. It comes in 27 shades!

A Beautiful Smile

One of your greatest beauty assets is your smile. I have known many women who try to avoid having photographs taken, they fear the camera so much that they set their face in what they think will be an expression which will not appear foolish but in reality, their uncomfortableness shows in the photo. These same women, caught smiling unawares, are engaging and beautiful.

Smile

There are many products on the market designed to whiten your teeth and give you a brighter smile, but in order to make the best of them, you have to protect your teeth first from decay and placque.

The findings of a new study done in Sweden show that the sweetener xylitol reduces the acidity of placque and bacteria that cause cavities. Xylitol is found in many brands of sugarless gum as well as other sugar-free treats. Xylitol occurs naturally in fruits and berries, such as pears and strawberries.

The researchers found that and intake of 6.0 grams of Xylitol daily was sufficient to reduce the risk of cavities. According to the research:

* A daily intake of xylitol is recommended as a supplement for patients at high risk for tooth decay.

* Xylitol products that actively stimulate the secretion of saliva should be the first choice, such as chewing gum.

* About 6 g of xylitol per day is needed to counteract the production of acid and thereby reduce the risk of cavities.

* The daily intake should be distributed over at least three occasions.

* The products should contain as much xylitol as possible and not be mixed with other sweeteners.

Of course, chewing gum constantly isn’t the heighth of attractiveness either, but just as chewing gum after meals helps clean the teeth, one could easily fit the three daily doses into her schedule.

And remember, you’re beautiful when you smile.

Sally Hansen Lipcolor Sealer

I bought this product two weeks ago and it has taken me all this time to work up the courage to try it, so mysterious are the warnings on the package.

A topcoat for lipstick that would make any lip color last 8 hours sounded like a great idea. I was confused however by both the claims that it has a fresh, minty taste and the caution that you should seek medical attention if ingested. How can you apply anything to your lips without the possibility of some of it being ingested?

The label says you will feel a tingling sensation as the topcoat sets and this is true, it’s almost a stinging effect but it doesn’t last long. The caution to only use over lipstick makes sense as it is a topcoat, as does the advice to never use on cracked or chapped lips. I can only imagine what it feels like on a raw lip…ouch!

Once set, there is no tingling and after a few more seconds I found that I wasn’t able to easily smudge my lipcolor - and believe me, I tried. On the down side, it’s a little sticky even after the product is set and you feel like you burst a bubble on your lips and didn’t get all the remnants of the gum off.

Pros: it does what it says, sets lipcolor and makes it smudgeproof and transferproof.

Cons: I wouldn’t dare test the contention that it is kissproof, because of the warning against accidental ingestion; in fact, I don’t know if I dare eat or drink my coffee.
