Metallics are everywhere this spring, in fashion, shoes, accessories and even on eyes. Adding a little metallic shine can be as easy as adding a belt, silver or gold shoes, a handbag. Why not add a little electrifying metallic glow to your face as well with the shimmer and shine of a metallic eyeshadow?
Revlon’s Molten Metal Liquid Eyeshadow comes in some great subtle metallic shades as well as the expected gold and silver. I love the names they have given the color choices: Gold Digger, Bronze Bomber, Copper Crush, Platinum Pinup, Scene Steeler and Tarnished. These luminous colors give metallic shine without being glitzy or obvious but definitely draw attention.
The liquid formula is easy to blend and more than one shade can be worn at once to create depth. The pigments mix in a crytal clear liquid when you shake the tube. Application is simple and because it’s a liquid, easier to control than powder shadow.
My favorite right now is Tarnished, a light gold-brown that has the appearance of buffed brass, not too shiny but with a definited metallic look.
Molten Metal Liquid Eyeshadow is one of the products in Revlon’s Limited Edition Collection.

The experts all agree that for Spring 2007, glamor is back.
The look for skin is flawless and matte, but not heavy or caky. Sheer foundation lightly set with translucent powder will achieve the most natural look while covering imperfections. Lips will be pale and neutral, barely-there colors are in.
Eyes will be dramatic and smoky. Eyeliner is all-important to bring out eyes and liner on the lower lid will be seen more. For eyeshadow, smokey greys and metallics, pinks, golds and shimmers are the color choices. Brows are definitely thicker, not pencil-thin. They will create the dramatic frame for the eye area. To help the eye stand out even more, lash extensions rather than full false lashes will be the rage. These can be done professionally or you can buy false lashes that are individual sprigs that you glue to the base of the lash line to create a lush, full look.
Blush, if used, should be as close to a natural match color as possible or you can try bronzing powder. The goal is seamless, flawless skin, so any color applied to skin must be lightly applied and blended well to highlight cheekbone structure.

Eyebrow shaping can be an art, but you may also be one of those lucky people whose eyebrows are naturally a perfect shape to crown your eyes.
Eyebrows of any shape and width need grooming however, even if they have been professionally waxed or plucked. Colored eyebrow gels are a great way to color, define and groom eyebrows so they retain that great shape and look all day.
Revlon makes a combination eyebrow pencil and gel that lets you define the brow with color and then brush with gel to set them. Brow Fantasy defines and styles brows with soft color while the gel shapes and sets them.
Another option is to use your favorite brow powder or pencil (or none at all if you are blessed with perfect brows) then groom and set them with a product like Maybelline’s Great Lash Clear Mascara for Lash and Brow

We’ve all seen the Hollywood stereotype of the female scientist with her hair in a tight bun and her tortoise-shell framed glasses who changes her studious look suddenly by whipping off her glasses and deftly letting her hair down by pulling at one central pin. Immediately, her male colleague who thought of her only as a fellow scientist is enraptured by the vision before him, exclaiming “My word. Dr. Smith, you’re beautiful!”.
While switching from glasses to contact lenses may not elicit such instantaneous attention from the male of the species, many women find contact lenses to be a freeing and fun experience. Glasses may do in some situations and circumstances, but can be less convenient in others. And if you have spent a lot of time on the creating the perfect makeup look for your eyes, it’s nice to have people be able to see it.
Contact lenses are available for almost all prescriptions and vision problems, including astigmatism and bifocal needs. Contacts also come in disposable versions that are worn for specific lengths of time and then replaced with a fresh, clean lens, which reduces the incidence of infections and irritations from the build-up of protein, calcium and lipids - all found naturally in your tears.
There are also colored lenses that can change or enhance your eye color while you wear them. They are available without vision correction for those whose eyesight is within normal limits. Colored contacts are clear in the center, allowing clear vision. At times, blinking may cause the lens to slip a bit bringing the colored portion over the pupil and at night your pupils may dilate with diminished light, making them larger than the clear center.
I wear both glasses and contacts. Finding a fun frame for your glasses makes them perfect for certain occasions or just casual wear. Since switching to disposable contacts, I find my eyes are more comfortable than they were with daily lenses. I haven’t tried colored contacts yet but would love to. If any of you have tried colored contacts, let me know about your experiences with them.
