Color for eyes has never been more popular. Dramatic blues, greens, purples and pinks are back in style. Eyeshadow is no longer trying to hide and blend.
L’oreal has just introduced a loose powder, luminous eye shadow that creates a shimmering, glimmering look. The powder can be applied lightly in some areas and layered in others to create dramatic color and highlights. Use more than one shade to enhance the look. Some of the shades employ a metallic shimmer. Beam is an earth shade with a hint of silver and my favorite, Limelight, combines green with gold. The colors are iridescent and all about being noticed.

Red lipstick is classic but many women are afraid to wear a bold red on their lips for fear they will look too made-up or worse, clownish. But everyone can wear red, if they choose the right color for their skin tone. True reds, like a fire-engine red, are fine for those with pink undertones in their skin while those with golden or yellow undertones should choose reds from the coral range.
When wearing a bright red lipstick, keep other make-up minimal. Your eyes and cheeks should not compete when lips take main stage. You can use a clear lip liner to keep the color from bleeding.
Favorite reds for lips:
Revlon Colorstay Soft & Smooth Lipcolor - Red Velvet
L’Oreal Colour Riche - British Red
Covergirl Outlast Smoothwear Lipcolor - Red Satin

If your hair is processed, that is, permed or straightened, your hair is more susceptible to damage from drying and styling. Definitely use pre-styling products that protect the hair from thermal damage but you have to get more basic with your hair care, starting with your shampoo.
A mild shampoo is a must. You can try different shampoos in different price ranges. Salon shampoos are great but pricey; try one of the shampoos for colored and processed hair available at the drug or department store. Follow it up with an extra-moisturizing conditioner for colored hair. These products contain ingredients to protect and preserve hair color. Because your hair is more likely to be dry near the ends, concentrate conditioner in that area. Scalp hair may get oily if you use too much conditioner.
Finally, try washing your hair less often, say every other day instead of every day. Let it have a break occasionally from styling as well.
Our pick for price and quality is L’Oreal Vive Pro Color Shampoo. It contains UV filters to protect from sun-fading of your hair color and promises 45% more color rentention.
