Spring Nails - Light to White

Spring is in full swing and so are frilly, feminine sundresses, and fresh looks for face, hair and even nails. This spring, uncover those nails and strip off the dark colors of fall and winter; we are going lighter - shimmering pastels to white, french manicure to barely-there pinks.

Some recommended products:

* Sally Hansen Star Opal Nail Glaze - wear alone or with a french manicure. Eight pastel shades that glide on shiny and smooth in just 1 coat. Real crushed opals to give that iridescent shimmer.

* Revlon’s Sweet Nothings Radiant Lacquer - pearls of pigment in luscious pastels that add shine and dazzle. Six pastel to sheer shades. DBP, Toluene and Formaldehyde free.

* L’oreal Bijou Facets collection. Pastel shades with optic fibers to create a dimensional and unique look. Try Hopeful, Pure, Innocent and Sweet shades for a girlish, spring look.

Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen

For those mornings when you rush through your makeup routine, drawing lines in all the wrong places and finding lipstick wandering off across your face, Revlon makes a product sure to become a girl’s best friend - the Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen.

With a quick swipe of the pen’s tip, even waterproof makeup can be removed easily for a quick touch-up of accidentally overdrawn eyeliner or lipstick. Remove smudges and smears without a fuss or having to redo your whole face.

Matte Eyes - Pouty Lips

It’s spring finally and under a warming sun that is creeping higher in the sky each day your makeup looks tired and out of place. Time to shake off winter routines and go for something light and breezy, something that lets the real you shine out.

Metallics are fine for nighttime wear but if you’re going to be out and about in the sunshine, you might feel and look more natural in mattes and neutral colors.

Eyeliner should be dotted in between the lashes, not a drawn line. Eyeshadows can be neutrals, pinks, sandy beige or earthy. Maybelline Expert Wear Eye Shadow Duo in Cocoa Delight or Indian Summer have neutral shades that are suitable for most skin tones. Try brown mascara if you have light brown or blonde hair, you can use black if your hair is darker.

When you get to lips, it’s okay to stay neutral but forget the matte and go for a moisture-drenched gloss. Gloss in barely-there hues will give you a fresh look and a hint of color. I like Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Nude Lustre.

Molten Metal for Eyes

Metallics are everywhere this spring, in fashion, shoes, accessories and even on eyes. Adding a little metallic shine can be as easy as adding a belt, silver or gold shoes, a handbag. Why not add a little electrifying metallic glow to your face as well with the shimmer and shine of a metallic eyeshadow?

Revlon’s Molten Metal Liquid Eyeshadow comes in some great subtle metallic shades as well as the expected gold and silver. I love the names they have given the color choices: Gold Digger, Bronze Bomber, Copper Crush, Platinum Pinup, Scene Steeler and Tarnished. These luminous colors give metallic shine without being glitzy or obvious but definitely draw attention.

The liquid formula is easy to blend and more than one shade can be worn at once to create depth. The pigments mix in a crytal clear liquid when you shake the tube. Application is simple and because it’s a liquid, easier to control than powder shadow.

My favorite right now is Tarnished, a light gold-brown that has the appearance of buffed brass, not too shiny but with a definited metallic look.

Molten Metal Liquid Eyeshadow is one of the products in Revlon’s Limited Edition Collection.
